Mother's Day Thoughts

I saw a draft on my mail, it was a year ago and I realized, I wrote these during the times that I'm struggling, missing my Nanay so much and was trying to put my self into place.

My email draft and it was more than a year ago already

I got a glimpse of being a working mom. Taking care of the house my own, thinking of the food the next day for my Tatay, keeping my furry babies Sansa and Damon's litter box clean, taking Mikey out every morning, washing the dishes and trying to keep the floor less sticky yet I still feel like the house is still a mess. That was just a few, I’m tired and I realize how I less appreciate my Nanay being a housewife because she won’t stop complaining of Tatay that doesn’t help at all. Keeping my everyday easier, having our breakfast ready, keeping my clothes in the closet all folds up and keeping my bed sheet clean every week is just a few reasons for us to love and take care of our moms in return!

I still have less than a year to enjoy living with them before getting married and that would be a little much tougher because I’ll be a working-business-mom

And also same goes for our working moms that are working double, trying to be a supermom so she can provide more than our daily needs. And I thank my future mom-in-law for being a supermom for my future husband.

So again, let’s love our Moms unconditionally, treat them once in a while and shower them with love!

P.S. for your dad who are sometimes or most of the times are like “Mind your own business”, just let it go and give them the life they wanted it to be. After all, they are old and may just need a little more understanding.

Now, I’m happily married and it’s an exciting transition for me. I still miss my Nanay so much but she never fail to show her love and support even if I am not living with her anymore.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms!

Our Photobooth: PawPrints Photobooth by PartyCats

Pawprints is our photobooth on our wedding day!
Did I already mention that we’re also in-charge of our photobooth on our wedding? We’ll not literally, here’s how.

To start with, Hal also operates photobooth as part of our partyneeds business. That’s the link that you’re seeing on the right side of this page.

So for us to be able to use our own photobooth on our wedding, we asked some help of a photobooth operator to take in charge of the booth during the session. Before our wedding day, we also asked assistance from our friend to bring the booth at the reception since Hal will not be able to do it himself.

For the layout, because we’re on a wedding rush, we also ask our friend to do a layout for us. I just made a few tweaks before we finally approve the layout that we did. Haha!

Of course, even our ninongs and ninangs enjoyed the photobooth during the event. I was very happy seeing them having so much fun.

To experience your own booth at your own event plus being able to promote it after your wedding is such a win! After the wedding program, two of our soon to be-weds friends already booked us for their photobooth. God is really great.

More pictures, more fun!

Our Wedding Cake

Our cake is a wedding gift of our Ninang Lisa. Her sister owns a bakeshop in Las Piñas and our ninang gladly volunteered to take in charge of our wedding cake. It’s all edible 2 layer fondant moist chocolate cake with fillings and chocolate flavored cupcakes. Though the design is a bit different on what we’ve provided, it’s no doubt mouth-watering delicious. Even some of our guests who were able to taste the cupcakes commented and asked about it.

Our Registration Table

I didn’t expect that Quidos, our caterer will put lots of wedding details in our registration table. If I only knew we didn’t put much effort in adding more as it was okay already for me. (Less work, more budget, haha!), hubby and I just doesn't want it to look too blank. Anyway, hubby and I really enjoyed doing it (well more me on that side) so it's okay. All the frames, pinwheels the letter boxes were all our labor of love.

Materials Used: Frames, Jar, Pinwheels, Letter boxes, Ribbons, Pink Bucket

Sadly, our photographers wasn't able to capture all our DIY's, huhu, I should've reminded them to do that.

Side Kwento's...

We initially colored the letters silver but it didn't quite look good so we changed it to the closest color that we've got to the theme. Much better than Silver.

Testing our crafty side

We also added “Guess How Many Kisses Game” upon registering. That’s why there's a jar of Kisses in the table. The winner was announced after the party. We saw that all our guests were excited to know who the lucky guesser is; they all wanted the jar of Kisses. The lucky winner was my Maid of Honor’s boyfriend Jeck. Btw, Kaye, my MOH was 2 months pregnant on my wedding so I believe Jeck won the prize because of the lucky baby. :)

Winner!

Our Wedding Reception Details

I do not like HELLO KITTY.

I do not provide specific instructions for our wedding reception setup. Upon discussing the theme to Ms. Gina, I felt that she’s quite new with the whimsical theme. I kept on saying that it’s a bit close to the shabby chic with a whimsical effect and showed some sample pictures. I felt that she only recognizes when I say shabby chic. So not to confuse her, I agreed with it. I just discussed my DIYs so the team will know that I'll provide the table numbers and the pinwheels.

As we entered the hall, I didn’t expect that it will look like it, in a good way. I loved it actually. We only had the standard package but the stage setup was for upgraded. Ms. Gina knew that I wanted a couch setup but we do not have stage so we brushed the idea off but their team was able to work on it, added the couch even without the stage. My DIY centerpieces looked good on and overall I am very satisfied. If you're considering Quidos and wanted to be specific, make sure to discuss every detail to them. For us, the surprise factor worked because we didn’t expect that they will put lots of elements on the venue and exceeded on what we've discussed for the look. Ms. Gina is also very flexible with your requests. We absolutely recommend Quidos Grill for a very affordable yet elegant caterer for your wedding ;)

And uhh, for the Hello Kitty on the table, okay, cge na nga… :p

I love the rustic effect.

My Wedding Dress

The collection of some of the gowns that I've fitted :p

The quest for the wedding dress.

Splurging for the wedding dress is a big no for me. I know it will be a bit hard getting a decent wedding dress that’s within our budget. If you're willing to sacrifice a bit, then the top notch is to look in Divisoria. Here, you just need to prepare yourself for a looong walk and the crowd. I wanted a simple ready made gown so I'll immediately see how it will look on me and to avoid the hassle of fittings. It took 3 Divisoria trips for me to find the "this is it" gown with the help of my mom, cousin and my tita.

And the winning dress is...

I just wanted it simple and suit my body type :)

The groom’s suit was also from Divisoria but it’s custom made.

He got a lot of compliments for this suit

What can you say?

The total for both the suit and the gown cost only 12,000 pesos. That's 6000 pesos each, complete with accessories. We bought it at 168mall. The gown/bridal section is on the 1st and 4th floor area. Also do not forget to haggle and surely you'll get a good deal.

Bridal Shower (Latepost)

Sharing my bridal shower organized by these lovely ladies :) Spell E-F-F-O-R-T!

And also, these two made my day extra special. Toffer - my former office mate pretended to be the gigolo for the night (and a very good actor :p) and Arjie one of my entourage arrived straight from MY just to be present at the surprise party.

grabbed from my ig account - I can't find the original copies

There were lots of food, games, drinks and laughter! It was a truly memorable night for me. Thanks again ladies!

Our Wedding Preparation at Parque España

A very spacious room 3 bedroom suite

It was Parque España that won our heart to be our wedding preparation venue. Though we do have several choices in Alabang area, Parque España won our requirements for our wedding preps. It is spacious and clean, although you should not expect a huge lobby or a staircase here because it’s typical residence hotel and probably the most affordable among the hotels nearby. We're after the hotel room and actually considering our budget as well. The option is either getting a not so spacious room in a more expensive hotel or to get a larger bedroom suite here. We decided to have the larger bedroom suite to ensure that the hotel room will not be very crowded and crossed out the idea of getting a picturesque lobby with me for the sake of good photos. We availed their bridal bliss package and just add another family room for the groom and his family. We booked the 3br Suite and another 2br Family, total of 13,750 pesos. We’re all satisfied and absolutely no regrets.

This package is a good deal for a budget bride
Master's bedroom
The toiletries
The 2nd room
And the 3rd room
The dining area
The living area
The kitchen area
The relaxing view from the window
Buffet style breakfast included

DIY Table Number, PinWheel in a Bottle and Madlibs

We decided to use some pictures from our 2nd prenup as our table numbers. We also added Pinwheel in a bottle and wedding mad libs in the table to keep them busy while waiting for us. We bought colored pens for them to use. It’s also cheaper if you have your own printer and print the photos and mad libs on your own. As you can see, the details of the design is very easy, we just wanted to add more to the theme and I guess we did a pretty good job despite of the rush and the budget.

Here's more during the preps...

Materials used:
Picture Frame
Ribbons (Pink, Gray and Teal)
Bottles
Paper Doily
Colored Pens
Card Stock for the madlibs

We Tied the Knot!

It’s been 42 days already since we tied the knot. It was awesome! More details coming soon :) I really need to catch up a lot with my wedding kwento :p I didn’t realize that after the wedding, we will be still very busy with the moving in, house renovations, buying stuffs that we need plus I also got sick during the holidays, so much changes and things to do. It was fun and tiring. I’ve lost 2-3 hours of sleep already everyday but it’s okay because we’re already getting there. I love going home everyday, waking up my hubby so we can eat breakfast together. We officially moved in with very basic furnitures, our front gate is not yet done plus my cat Sansa doesn’t like her new house yet. Haysss… I actually just squeezed this day to update a few more details here because I’m itching to blog already. So for now, I’ll update you with more wedding preps and the wedding itself... Cheers!!!
